Q. Who signs energy compliance documents [Title 24 Report form CF1R]?

A. The Title 24 Report (Certificates of Compliance form CF1R) is signed by both the documentation author (us) and the responsible person (client). Refer to the California Energy Commission (CEC) Blueprint for additional details.

Q. Will the Title 24 Report you’ve produced meet the City’s requirements?

A. Absolutely. All Title 24 Reports are prepared using CEC approved computer compliance programs, which are certified by the California Energy Commission (CEC). This guarantees accuracy, acceptance, and compliance with all California city requirements.

Q. What are ADUs?

A. Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are known by various names, including granny flats, in-law units, backyard cottages, secondary units, and more.

Q. How can I contact the California Energy Commission (CEC) for questions regarding Title 24 reports or energy compliance requirements?

Q. Can you help with the sizing of HVAC equipment?

A. We provide HVAC sizing (HVAC Loads calculation) services for an additional fee. We can also calculate Rooms/Zones Loads.

Q. How quickly will I receive the Title 24 Report (Certificate of Compliance form CF1R) after sending payment?

A. The report will be emailed to you within few business days (excluding weekends and holidays). For weekend service, please contact us.

Q. Will I receive 24″x36″ pages along with the report?

A. The report will be emailed in PDF (A4 – 8.5″ x 11″) and TIF (images of each page, easy to embed into AutoCad drawings) formats. You can order 24″ x 36″ pages separately.

Q. If a plan checker finds a problem with the Title 24 Report, will you fix it free of charge?

A. We will rectify our errors free of charge.

Q. What should I do if my proposed building “does not comply”?

A. No worries. We’ll inform you about necessary improvements and work with you until the building complies, free of charge!

Q. The Building Department inspector asked for CF2R and CF3R forms; can you help us with these?

A. For residential projects, there are three types of forms that may be required based on the scope of work:

  • CF1R [Certificate of Compliance] – Our company provides this.
  • CF2R [Certificate of Installation] – Should be provided by the builder/contractor.
  • CF3R [Certificate of HERS Verification] – Should be provided by a HERS Rater.

Q. The Building Department inspector asked for NRCI and NRCA forms; can you help us with these?

A. For non-residential projects, three types of forms may be required based on the scope of work:

  • NRCC [Non-Residential Certificate of Compliance/Title 24 Report] – Our company provides this.
  • NRCI [Non-Residential Certificate of Installation] – Should be provided by the builder/contractor.
